Krystal Rochette

Krystal Rochette

I have taken what I have learned from DBT, the experiences I have had in the public school setting, and raising a “Gen Z” child to adulthood to come up with perspectives to help lessen suffering, accept the present moment, stop doing to the point of exhaustion and burnout, and recognize triggers before spiraling out of control. The goal is to be able to do nothing but breathe and be okay with that. Without worrying about what you haven’t done, why everyone hates you, and reliving every mistake you ever made. “Just to be alive is enough.” -Miguel Ruiz

Through the study of DBT a good day for me is when I can ground myself through the roots of my DBT seed before making choices that will derail me and those around me. There are still days I ignore what I have learned, and have to use the skills I have grown to climb out of the hole I dug. I am striving for progress, not perfection. I allow myself to enjoy things, without worrying it will end badly. Taking pictures of the beauty around me while I walk with my dog brings me great joy. I try to take a new picture each day. I also like to take pictures of the mishaps my dog creates (my husband calls it “Beagle Glitter”.) Is it DBT you are looking for?
