About Me
My work as a Clinical Social Worker, Psychotherapist and Life Coach spans more than 30 years. I spent my childhood on Eastern Michigan University’s campus. I later returned to that campus, graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Social Work with a strong focus in psychology. In 2002, I completed my Master of Social Work degree from University of Michigan School of Social Work. I was fortunate to participate in excellent internship training at the U of M Psychological Clinic: case formulation & in depth analysis; psychodynamic theory as well as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) were mainstays there.
I enjoy being a psychotherapist, and have held positions in many areas that lend me a versatile wealth of experience to draw upon in my work. Highlights include Dawn Farm residential treatment program for individuals with substance abuse and addiction problems. I worked at Washtenaw County Community Mental Health for many years in a number of positions: Case Manager; Probate Court Liaison between CMH/Psychiatric Hospitals/individuals needing psychiatric hospitalization for violent behavior towards others and suicidality; Lead Group & Individual Therapist on the DBT Team. For a number of years I served as a Mental Health Professional in the University of Michigan Psychiatric Emergency Services Department.
Always Interested in the struggles of Adolescents and Women, I spent considerable time as a Childbirth Educator & Childhood Developmental Counselor and Trauma Therapist for at risk teens and young adults.
I’m also the mother of 4 great kids, and I am so proud of the young adults they have become!
